Meet William Porter: The leader behind Porter & Company Builders
William Porter is the founder of Porter & Co Builders. A Greensboro native with a passion for all things mechanical, William has spent his life enthralled by the physical workings of our everyday environment. In the wake of the 2008 Great Recession, William served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Indian River Habitat for Humanity, where he led volunteer teams in deconstructing homes to salvage building materials for resale in the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. For his dedication to volunteering, he was awarded the Lifetime Presidential Volunteer Service Award in 2010.
An avid mountain biker and outdoor recreationist, William believes in practicing environmental stewardship in our daily lives. At the same time, he is a lifelong lover of everything motorized and mechanical. It is within these seemingly opposing passions that William’s love of building performance and dedication to building science have evolved.
